Community Involvement
The team at Cairn deeply believes in being a part of the community where our customers and team members live, work and play. We nourish our community by treating our employees well, providing an advocacy platform for causes related to human and animal quality of life as well as outdoor recreation and the environment, and advocating for the interests of local business and craft beer.

Involvement in Local Nonprofits
Cairn actively supports our local nonprofit community in a variety of causes, with priority to human and animal quality of life as well as outdoor recreation and the environment. We provide support via donations of cash and in-kind goods for auctions and fundraising events as well as our Community Pint Nights in the Cairn taproom. Community Pint Nights provide an advocacy opportunity for the nonprofit to raise awareness of their mission and share how individuals can get involved. Cairn also donates a portion of the day’s proceeds to the designated nonprofit. Learn more about these events here and how to request a Cairn Community Pint Night for your organization.

Cairn supports a few marquee community groups with events annually, specifically Boxers and Brews with MustLuvBoxers Rescue and OktoberForest with The Friends of North Creek Forest. Cairn also hosts Dog Gone Seattle semi-monthly in the taproom for the Airbnb Experiences event, Drink a Draft with a Rescue Dog which is a key fundraiser for the dog rescue.
Cairn also supports myriad of other community groups, a sampling is here:
Involvement in the Local Business Community
Cairn strongly believes in the strength of small business in our community, and we support that belief by partnering with local businesses on products, events and leadership. We buy ingredients from local manufacturers like Cascade Beer Candi and Skagit Valley Malting and products for resale from Jones Soda. CB"s Nuts, and Canine Beer Biscuits. We co-host events and beers with Micro Homebrew, our neighboring homebrew and wine-making supply store. Cairn also partners with community-anchor Kenmore Air for the annual Flight and a Flight over Father’s Day weekend. We selectively provide beer to local eating establishments like The Guest House. Cairn also partners with local food entrepreneurs to host the Kenmore Food Truck Corner featuring a rotating schedule of food trucks representing many cuisines.

Cairn is an active member of the Bothell-Kenmore Chamber of Commerce where we sit on the board of directors and also support their local events like beer and wine walks, the annual Bothell Underground Beer Festival, and the Chamber of Commerce’s annual auction.

Involvement in the Craft Beer Community
Cairn cherishes being a part of the vibrant and extraordinarily collegial craft beer community. We are a founding brewery of the newly-launched Eastside Beer Week, organized by The Beerded Gentleman. Eastside Beer Week features events and beer releases from our brewery colleagues alongside the East side of Lake Washington and Seattle, ranging from Everett to Woodinville to Redmond to Kent along the I-5 corridor.

Cairn also supports the craft beer community by supporting home brewing, including our ongoing series of beers based on Micro Homebrew’s recipes from our neighborhood homebrew store. We also partner with Micro Homebrew and the Abrosis School of Brewing to offer homebrew classes in the Cairn taproom, a unique opportunity in the Seattle area to take a homebrew class in a production brewery.

We also are active members of the Washington Brewers Guild serving the State of Washington‘s craft brewers and the Brewers Association, craft beer’s national association
